Learning for Life

Learning for Life enables South Asia's most marginalised populations, especially women and girls, to gain access to education, health and employment - the basic human rights that form the first, essential step in overcoming poverty.

From my work in India for the UN World Women’s NGO Forum and for the Centre for Development of Institutional Technology in Delhi, I co-founded the UK charity Learning for Life in 1994.

We began with helping develop girls’ education by supporting the development of 250 village schools for girls in India, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Nineteen years on, Learning for Life has expanded their vision and commitment, working with street and working children, as well as impoverished communities across South Asia, in Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
